In the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) category, we recognize an escalating emphasis on protecting passengers in any type of crash scenario. For that reason, we offer a wide range of airbag variations, including frontal, side, curtain and knee airbags.

One such example is the front and rear seat side-curtain airbag. When a side collision is detected, gas-generating inflators mounted on the quarter pillars are activated to instantaneously inflate airbags, covering side glass areas and protecting the passenger's heads. Studies show this technology is an effective method for reducing impact to the head during a vehicle side-impact collision. Side-curtain shield airbags are also being developed for rollover protection.

At the same time, the airbag itself has been further improved, incorporating materials that reduce weight while adding strength. Plus our dual-inflator system means faster inflation and improved reliability.

In addition, we've developed an innovative SRS knee airbag which, when installed beneath the steering wheel, expands to constrain passengers from the knees down, thus reducing injury through the control of impact posture.

All the while, TG Missouri uses computer aided engineering technology to design and implement its safety systems while producing components that are both compact and lightweight.
